About Us
The Society
The Lake & Shore Community Recreation Society is a non-profit organization registered with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stocks in March 2011 (see Society By-Laws). The Society was created to allow for community-based management of the HRSB-owned/HRM leased Recreation Centre built as an annex to the new Elementary School in Porter’s Lake.The Recreation Centre opened in September, 2011.

Key values of the Lake & Shore Community Recreation Society include the promotion of healthy lifestyles, community engagement, local partnerships, accessibility, equitable opportunity, belonging, personal development and community growth.
Vision
The Centre will be a gathering place for our community with a mission to help create a happy, healthy community through the provision of sport, recreation, cultural and social activities to citizens of the greater Porter’s Lake/ East Lawrencetown/ Chezzetcook area. We offer a wide offering of quality recreation programs and rental space for special events, clubs, and hobby classes. Come check out our programs in Porters Lake.
